Imagine 1,700 people together moving, breathing, intending healing energy for our world! What would that look like? Can you really get that many strangers together smiling and geniuinely hugging each other?!? Yes, you can if you are here at the Orange County Orlando Convention Center for the Qi Revolution… a spectacular 4-Day Qigong event with the Supreme Science Qigong Foundation.
Troy and I along with a few of our friends… Heather, Tina, and Kelli all came together for 8 hours of Qigong! You know, qigong or also seen as chi kung… a 5,000 year old life force of breath, movement and positive intentions practiced in China for a long time. Now, we have Jeff Primack here with over 90 of his instructors to help us learn how to practice Qigong to increase our Qi or Chi!
What an incredible experience! This is a total understatement. IT is so difficult to quiet ourselves and to move so slowly, so deliberately, so much intent for us to even start to feel the life force energy between our hands. It’s called energy and we all have it. We need to find our Qi. And indeed we did! Qi is like fire and Gong is the effort. It DOES take effort! Try moving your arms up and down and over your head as if you are in a slow motion movie and then pause to pulse and feel the Qi. (My shoulders were burning at some points.)
The best experience today was the breathe empowerment exercise. This is where we hyperoxygenate our bodies by breathing rapidly for a period of time. Jeff warned us that some of us who need to detoxify our bodies from negative energy or toxins, our hands may cramp up… so do not be alarmed. Also, if anyone had seizure disorders of any kind, they were not able to participate. ( I was getting a little concerned after he said that.)
But, I did it anyway. We all did! I think the entire exercise was about 20-30 minutes. I’m not sure. But, we were breathing rapidly… basically hyperventilating. I did have to slow my breathing down just a tad because I was fearful of passing out. After some time, I felt pressure/tingling in my legs and then my abdomen. Troy’s hands both cramped up (he called them the crab claws and also, his forearms… apparently he has a lot of toxins to get rid of). After this rapid Warrior Breathing, we breathed normally so as Jeff explained all the energy we gathered would now start to circulate.
Circulate it did! Holy Cow!!! My whole body from head to toe was tingling… vibrating… whatever you want to call it… I had so much energy circulating and my hands literally felt like they were going to explode! Everyone had a slightly different experience, however, we all felt the energy and the chi! This was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced in my whole life. Cool!
The rest of the day was spent learning how to do Level 1 Qigong Form. Slow, Slow, Slow…. Hard, Hard, Hard. But, I was able to feel the energy. Troy was also able to FEEL it. I was so happy!
Jeff also did a presentation about healing foods and how if we just eat what is fresh and good… fruits and veggies… we’d be healthy and be able to reverse some diseases we are plagued with in today’s society! Cancer, diabetes, cardiac disease… etc. you name it, he has a food to help it. Fascinating! Troy and I plan to buy the book tomorrow when we return for Day #2.
